the challenge
IHS, an occupational health company, ran their entire operation on pen-and-paper forms and scattered Sharepoint files — patient records, job-specific physical requirement documentation, capability screenings, and employee data all lived in disconnected places with no consistent structure. Records were edited manually, rarely reflected the latest updates, and staying compliant with legal and regulatory requirements was a constant uphill battle. IHS needed more than a place to store information — they needed a system designed around how their team actually worked day to day.
the solution
As product designer, Jaclyn led the process from the start, mapping IHS's existing workflows, identifying where their existing process broke down, and designing an intuitive system built specifically around how their team actually worked. She shaped the information architecture, user flows, and interface for managing patients, job-specific physical requirements, capability screenings, employee records, and reporting, then built the UI in React alongside two developers, translating the design directly into a working product.
